On Sunday, April 21, STC is hosting a beautification day in conjunction with the Swarthmore Horticultural Society. Come downtown between 1 - 4 pm and join other volunteers in caring for gardens, picking up trash, cleaning our tree wells, and doing some spring cleaning to spruce up the town before events season kicks off!

SHS is offering 8 interesting varieties of magnolias, from 3’ to 8’ at time of sale, most in 5 gallon pots, selling for $49, $59, and $99.  They are buying them from excellent local growers and are offering them below usual nursery prices, to encourage residents to try these easy-to-grow, fragrant beauties! 

The Swarthmore Street Tree Committee + PHS TreeVitalize program is available this spring.  Twice a year (Spring and Fall) this program offers 12 FREE Street Trees in the Borough. They are planted in an organized volunteer tree planting day by the homeowner + volunteer support on April 20. 

Join us this Friday, 1/19 at 5:30 in the park next to Borough Hall (where the Robotics Alliance display is set up) for a celebratory reception to award the grand prize to the non-profit with the most votes, and distribute donations to the participating organizations. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome!
