CANCELED: Community Arts Center - Fine Arts Festival
CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
In its nineteenth year, the festival has a strong tradition of presenting many of the area’s best artists in a comfortable and accessible environment. With the support of local businesses and the Borough, downtown Swarthmore is the perfect location to present fine arts! Join us for an art-filled day in SWARTHMORE featuring great art and craft, live music and all day fun for the whole family!

Lions Club Independence Eve 8k Run/Walk
Get a jump on your Independence Day celebration at the Swarthmore Lions Independence Eve 8K (5 mile) and 2 ½ Mile Walk. The race will be held on Monday evening, July 3 at 7:00 pm. This friendly, small town community race draws runners from all over the Delaware Valley. This year, we will be running on a relatively flat 8K route through the tree-lined neighborhoods of the Borough. The 2 ½ Mile Walk route follows the first loop of the 8K.
Proceeds from the race support Lions charities which include organizations that assist the visually impaired such as the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Chester and the Delaware Valley Eye Bank.
On-line registration is available at www.runsignup.com.
On site registration and packet pick-up will take place in the Borough Hall lobby at 121 Park Avenue in Swarthmore from 5:00pm to 6:45pm on the day of the race.
The entry fee for both the race and the walk is $30 and $35 on race day.
Awards will be presented to the first three overall male and female runners and to the first three male and female runners in 9 age groups-10 and under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Refreshments will be served after the race. Tech t-shirts are guaranteed to all preregistered runners and walkers and while supplies last.
